Júlio Gomes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Óscar Ribeiro went, in the 8th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 11th minute, Óscar Sá hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Duarte Macedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jaime Assunção hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Miguel Gaspar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Óscar Ribeiro in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Júlio Gomes saved SC Medeiros from getting behind. Júlio Gomes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Óscar Ribeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Gonçalo Gueifão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Júlio Gomes having to interfere. Miguel Gaspar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Óscar Ribeiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. António Cruz kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Óscar Ribeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 40th minute, Gonçalo Gueifão got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Hélder Nunes fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Medeiros's protests and gave Hélder Nunes a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, SC Medeiros's Hélder Nunes got a free kick in the 41st minute. Óscar Ribeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 48th minute Gonçalo Gueifão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Júlio Gomes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Gonçalo Gueifão in the 55thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Júlio Gomes, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After a defensive mix-up in Lapa's zone, Duarte Macedo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cândido Henriques came out of the goal and Duarte Macedo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 69 minutes into the match, Duarte Macedo notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Lapa's Cândido Henriques. Cândido Henriques was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 73rd minute, Duarte Macedo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cândido Henriques took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Gaspar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 77th minute, one of Lapa:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Lapa. In the 79th minute there was a penalty for SC Medeiros. Fernando Jesus stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Cândido Henriques. 2-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gonçalo Gueifão got free with Júlio Gomes in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cândido Henriques showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Duarte Macedo in the 88th minute of the match. In the 89th match minute, Lapa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Óscar Sá to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Lapa's zone, Duarte Macedo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cândido Henriques came out of the goal and Duarte Macedo tried to chip the ball over his head. In the 92nd minute, Duarte Macedo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Miguel Gaspar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Cândido Henriques tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. SC Medeiros had won after a very even match.
