A collision led to SC Formigais getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. David Valente hit a great ball. After 25 played minutes, Feirao's Jorge Santos shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Rafael Matos came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Feirao reached it. Xavier Santos struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Luís Aleixo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Formigais. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Xavier Santos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Pedro Coimbra took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 91st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Luís Aleixo. Feirao's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Feirao's Luís Aleixo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Humberto Leite in the 95th minute of play. Luís Aleixo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xavier Santos, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. SC Formigais had won after a very even match.
