The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lúcio Marques showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Amadeu Mota could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Lúcio Marques made a huge save. The supporters of Carvalhal booed when Curraleira FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. André Morais didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 16 played minutes Carvalhal got a freekick which was hit by Cristiano Brás. David Azevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xavier Neves having to interfere. 56 minutes into the match, Curraleira FC's goal looked a bit too open when Amadeu Mota came free, but Lúcio Marques reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. David Azevedo might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Xavier Neves. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Leite in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Xavier Neves saved Carvalhal from getting behind. 82 minutes into the game, Catarino Soares cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Lúcio Marques was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Catarino Soares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Lúcio Marques tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Curraleira FC's Ricardo Cabral got a free kick in the 89th minute. Catarino Soares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 93 minutes, Amadeu Mota managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carvalhal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amadeu Mota was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Carvalhal were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
