Nuno Cabral charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nuno Cabral the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Nuno Cabral hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Luís Cardoso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Joaquim Nascimento showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xavier Garcia, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Leiria FC's zone, Luís Cardoso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joaquim Nascimento came out of the goal and Luís Cardoso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Leiria FC getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Domingos Sousa hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Campo FC's Xavier Garcia got a free kick in the 30th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Xavier Garcia in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joaquim Nascimento prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Pedro Araújo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Vasco Nogueira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cândido Amaro struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Vasco Nogueira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Leiria FC. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Xavier Garcia made a kick off. Campo FC's Vasco Nogueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cândido Amaro in the 55th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Xavier Garcia kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Joaquim Nascimento. That made the score 1-3 in the 61 minute of play. Pedro Setúbal's late challenge caught a Leiria FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pedro Setúbal helped the player get up and apologised. 70 minutes into the match, Leiria FC's Daniel Baptista broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After 73 minutes of play, Leiria FC's Cândido Amaro made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vasco Nogueira was left in no man's land by his defense there! 77 minutes into the match, Campo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cândido Amaro came free, but Vasco Nogueira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pedro Araújo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vasco Nogueira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. Eusébio Nascimento hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Leiria FC's Daniel Baptista couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 84th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Campo FC. The supporters of Leiria FC booed when Campo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Setúbal didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cândido Amaro during the 86th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Leiria FC were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
