An unexpectedly hard shot by Rui Leal in the 23rd minute of play forced SC Arcozello's goalkeeper Joaquim Correia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A well-hit corner resulted in Hugo Esteves heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. After a defensive mix-up in SC Arcozello's zone, Eusébio Figueiredo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joaquim Correia came out of the goal and Eusébio Figueiredo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. SC Arcozello's Joaquim Correia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rui Leal in the 60th minute of play. Artur Pereira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquim Correia having to interfere. Joaquim Correia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Artur Pereira in the 63rd minute of the match. Rui Leal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Joaquim Correia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of SC Recardais booed when SC Arcozello was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joaquim Correia prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Sebastião Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
