Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) SC Caravelas's Afonso Nascimento started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. SC Prada's Cláudio Baptista played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Afonso Nascimento in the 5th minute of play. Catarino Ribeiro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cláudio Baptista read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 6th minute of play. In the 7th minute, Afonso Nascimento got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Afonso Nascimento's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cláudio Baptista was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. Cláudio Baptista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Afonso Nascimento in the 11th minute of play. Luís Santarém hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. When SC Caravelas's Catarino Ribeiro in the 14th minute got a chance for a shot 14th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The tension between the SC Prada and the SC Caravelas players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 19 played minutes SC Prada got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Marques. Cláudio Baptista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Afonso Nascimento, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Catarino Moura during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Catarino Moura hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. After having played for 28 minutes, Afonso Nascimento managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Caravelas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Afonso Nascimento was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Catarino Ribeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Cláudio Baptista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Eusébio Vaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlos Coelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 48 minutes into the match, SC Prada's goal looked a bit too open when Catarino Ribeiro came free, but Cláudio Baptista reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carlos Coelho to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute Afonso Nascimento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cláudio Baptista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Catarino Ribeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Adelino Paiva came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by SC Prada's Eusébio Vaz. But to his dismay, Eusébio Vaz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After a rather tough play, SC Prada's Catarino Moura got a free kick in the 59th minute. After having played for 73 minutes, Fábio Coimbra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Caravelas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fábio Coimbra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Catarino Ribeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Cláudio Baptista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Catarino Ribeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cláudio Baptista having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in SC Prada's zone, Catarino Ribeiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cláudio Baptista came out of the goal and Catarino Ribeiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Catarino Ribeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
