He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SC Fervenca reached it. Diamantino Freitas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emílio Valente, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Diamantino Freitas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emílio Valente, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 24 minutes, Tomás Vaz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lamego FC and the SC Fervenca players grew even worse after the yellow card. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The supporters of Lamego FC booed when SC Fervenca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amadeu Pires didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 88th minute João Maia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diamantino Freitas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
