Rui Tavares stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alexandre Carvalho's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. The referee showed Duarte Gonçalves the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 27th match minute, SC Povoas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Duarte Gonçalves to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, SC Povoas's André Monteiro got a free kick in the 29th minute. Gonçalo Santarém charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gonçalo Santarém the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 39 played minutes Fernandaires FC got a freekick which was hit by Eusébio Nogueira. When Cristóvão Miranda fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Povoas's protests and gave Cristóvão Miranda a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Fernandaires FC booed when SC Povoas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristóvão Miranda didn't get a good kick on the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jorge Mota made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, SC Povoas's Sandro Moutinho ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Tomás Faro. Tomás Faro yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. Sandro Moutinho struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Tomás Faro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Povoas. In the 75th minute, Jorge Mota got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 78th minute, Catarino Borges hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jorge Mota received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Tomás Faro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Sandro Moutinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 88 minutes into the match, Fernandaires FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jorge Mota came free, but Tomás Faro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristóvão Miranda got his second yellow card in the match during the 91st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Cristóvão Miranda kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Alexandre Machado might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rui Tavares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alexandre Machado ran back to his position shaking his head. Afonso Nascimento kicked well hit freekick during the 98th minute of the match.
