The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vítor Carneiro during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of SC Unhao booed when SC Soutelo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vítor Carneiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. 18 minutes into the match, SC Soutelo's goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Setúbal came free, but Vasco Aleixo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vasco Aleixo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Albertino Fernandes's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. SC Unhao's defense didn't have a chance, in the 21st minute, when Jorge Gueifão scored to the left of an out of position Fábio Vale, making the score, 1-0. 32 minutes in the game, Jorge Gueifão fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Fábio Vale having to interfere. Vítor Carneiro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fábio Vale having to make a save. Vasco Aleixo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Setúbal in the 37th minute of the match. After 42 minutes of play SC Soutelo's Vítor Carneiro was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. If Albertino Fernandes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pedro Esteves could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 48th minute of the match, but Fábio Vale made a huge save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Albertino Fernandes made the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Francisco Setúbal notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of SC Soutelo's Vasco Aleixo. Vasco Aleixo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Alberto Luz's late challenge caught a SC Unhao's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vasco Aleixo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. SC Unhao's Albertino Fernandes got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. SC Soutelo's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
