SC Mouriz's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Mondroes the free kick. The supporters of SC Mondroes booed when SC Mouriz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernando Gaspar didn't get a good kick on the ball. The long shot by José Leiria in the 7th minute really tested Rodrigo Vale's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Basílio Machado during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 9 played minutes SC Mondroes got a freekick which was hit by Basílio Machado. 11 minutes into the game, Daniel Assunção cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Eduardo Santos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Daniel Assunção sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 18th minute, Pedro Rodrigues hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. José Leiria kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. After 35 played minutes SC Mondroes got a freekick which was hit by Adolfo Moreira. Eduardo Santos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Assunção in the 40th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Domingos Cruz made a kick off. After some careless play in the SC Mondroes defense, Domingos Cruz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eduardo Santos. The SC Mondroes fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eduardo Santos should have stopped the shot. Domingos Cruz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eduardo Santos having to interfere. Daniel Assunção fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eduardo Santos having to interfere. Daniel Assunção received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Eduardo Santos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SC Mouriz's Daniel Assunção got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Domingos Cruz in the 86th minute of play forced SC Mondroes's goalkeeper Eduardo Santos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Domingos Cruz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eduardo Santos having to interfere. When the match was over SC Mouriz could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than SC Mondroes throughout the match.
