Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Adolfo Matos started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. If Adolfo Matos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 5th match minute, Sarnache FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristiano Coelho to maneuver through the defense. Joel Teixeira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Joel Pinho went, in the 8th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Sarnache FC's Alexandre Brás got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 24th minute, Manuel Teixeira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 31st match minute, Sarnache FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nuno Fontes to maneuver through the defense. In the 33rd minute SC Merufe were awarded a corner. Pedro Gomes went to the cornerflag to take it. SC Merufe's Pedro Gomes was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Joel Teixeira in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexandre Brás in the 35th minute of play forced SC Merufe's goalkeeper José Dias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Nuno Fontes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sarnache FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Nuno Fontes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José Dias breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Sarnache FC's zone, Manuel Teixeira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joel Teixeira came out of the goal and Manuel Teixeira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alexandre Brás made a kick off. Joel Pinho's late challenge caught a Sarnache FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joel Pinho helped the player get up and apologised. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alexandre Brás in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck José Dias prevented the ball from getting in the gole. José Dias showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexandre Brás in the 59th minute of the match. Manuel Teixeiras short, quick shot in the 65thth minute got Joel Teixeira to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When SC Merufe's Adolfo Matos in the 67th minute got a chance for a shot 67th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sarnache FC's goalie prevented a goal. After a defensive mix-up in SC Merufe's zone, Abel Sousa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Dias came out of the goal and Abel Sousa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. SC Merufe's José Dias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexandre Brás in the 72nd minute of play. After having played for 75 minutes, Adolfo Matos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Merufe's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adolfo Matos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 79 minutes into the game, Rui Aguiar was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sarnache FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Merufe the free kick. Rui Aguiar hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. After having played for 89 minutes, Abel Sousa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sarnache FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abel Sousa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Abel Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Sarnache FC manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing SC Merufe to win.
