The audience was convinced that Jacinto Mendes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alberto Tavares was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. In the 35th match minute, SC Guirela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diamantino Leão to maneuver through the defense. Joaquim Freitas took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rodrigo Andrade. Rodrigo Andrade dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jacinto Mendes made a kick off. After 54 minutes, Diamantino Leão mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Guirela and the Capellas FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Diamantino Leão kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Capellas FC's Diamantino Guarda got a free kick in the 58th minute. Alberto Tavares made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Afonso Porto sent off a good shot on target. SC Guirela's Alberto Tavares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacinto Mendes in the 64th minute of play. After 66 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Capellas FC! The referee gave SC Guirela a penalty, 68 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Cristiano Luz, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Capellas FC's Rodrigo Andrade. 2-1. Jorge Anjos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alberto Tavares having to make a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jorge Anjos got free with Alberto Tavares in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 80 minutes into the match, Sebastião Monteiro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rodrigo Andrade. Capellas FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sebastião Monteiro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Jorge Anjos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Capellas FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jorge Anjos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alberto Tavares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Capellas FC booed when SC Guirela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Torres didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jorge Anjos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Alberto Tavares made a huge save. In the 89th match minute, SC Guirela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rui Moura to maneuver through the defense. Jacinto Mendes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alberto Tavares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. SC Guirela's Alberto Tavares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacinto Mendes in the 91st minute of play. If Jacinto Mendes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by João Correia during the 98th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 98th match minute, Capellas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Correia to maneuver through the defense.
