Lourenço Setúbal charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 28th minute, António Fernandes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fábio Queirós in the 30th minute of play forced Goucha FC's goalkeeper Tiago Azevedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 43 minutes into the game, one of Goucha FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. André Pinho who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 46thth minute tested the skills of Tiago Azevedo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. António Fernandes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 49th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nuno Guarda having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when António Fernandes made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd match minute, Quebrada was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manuel Guarda to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Quebrada defense, Nuno Barbosa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nuno Guarda. The Quebrada fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nuno Guarda should have stopped the shot. Tiago Azevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fábio Queirós in the 98th minute of play.
