Without hesitation aimed to the right of Mariano Rocha, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 8th match minute, Agunchos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfredo Pedroso to maneuver through the defense. Américo Bessa kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Mariano Rocha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Mota in the 12th minute of the match. Vasco Neto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manuel Antunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. After having played for 21 minutes, Luís Andrade managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Agunchos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luís Andrade was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Diamantino Branco during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Agunchos FC booed when Estrada FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diamantino Branco didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Manuel Antunes in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vasco Neto saved Estrada FC from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Estrada FC's Luís Mota got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Manuel Antunes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Manuel Antunes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 40th minute, André Viana got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The Agunchos FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Agunchos FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
