After 28 played minutes, SC Piais's Alexandre Rocha shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Pedro Leão came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SC Piais reached it. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Armando Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Piais's supporters rose to their feet, but Armando Santos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Leão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 35 minutes, Miguel Oliveira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mascotelos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Miguel Oliveira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel Oliveira in the 39th minute of play forced SC Piais's goalkeeper José Teixeira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 41 played minutes Mascotelos got a freekick which was hit by Henrique Pacheco. José Pires missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 43 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Pedro Leão right hand side. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Miguel Oliveira to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52ndth minute of the game Miguel Oliveira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Piais's José Teixeira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 1-1 became the score in the 53rd minute when Miguel Oliveira elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. José Teixeira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emílio Abreu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 61 minutes into the game, Mascotelos's Emílio Abreu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. José Teixeira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Pedro Leão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Soares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. José Teixeira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miguel Oliveira, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. José Pires, 74 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 77th minute of the match, Miguel Soares tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Pedro Leão saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The supporters of Mascotelos booed when SC Piais was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ricardo Azevedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Joaquim Nascimento kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Emílio Abreu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Teixeira having to interfere. If Miguel Oliveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
