Gustavo Gomes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henrique Azevedo having to interfere. When André Mendes came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Venade fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that André Mendes couldn't finish the play. 34 minutes into the match, SC Meixomil's goal looked a bit too open when André Mendes came free, but Cristóvão Silva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Basílio Barbosa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Henrique Azevedo was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. Henrique Azevedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Basílio Barbosa in the 40th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Francisco Carvalho during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 40 played minutes Venade got a freekick which was hit by Francisco Carvalho. SC Meixomil's Gustavo Gomes got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 45 played minutes Venade got a freekick which was hit by João Alves. After having played for 46 minutes, Basílio Barbosa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Meixomil's supporters crossed their fingers, but Basílio Barbosa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. André Mendes was the one to do the kick off. Gustavo Gomes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. SC Meixomil's Cristóvão Silva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by André Mendes in the 55th minute of play. If Basílio Barbosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jorge Lisboa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Cristóvão Silva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Henrique Azevedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Basílio Barbosa in the 70th minute of the match. Henrique Azevedo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gustavo Gomes went, in the 79th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. 83 minutes into the match, Venade's goal looked a bit too open when Basílio Barbosa came free, but Henrique Azevedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 88 minutes into the match, Basílio Barbosa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Henrique Azevedo. Venade's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Basílio Barbosa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. In the 92nd minute, Jorge Lisboa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Venade fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Marco Gueifão charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marco Gueifão the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of SC Meixomil booed when Venade was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marco Gueifão didn't get a good kick on the ball. SC Meixomil's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
