In the 3rd minute, Hugo Gueifão got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by António Pires in the 4th minute of play forced SC Cantarola's goalkeeper Marco Borba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hugo Gueifão during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 40th minute António Pires shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Borba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, SC Cantarola's Paulo Nascimento got a free kick in the 45th minute. The audience was convinced that António Pires's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marco Borba was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
