José Almeida might have been able to make a better finish in the 3rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nuno Sousa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. José Almeida ran back to his position shaking his head. David Matias showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vítor Barros in the 10th minute of the match. In the 11th minute, Nuno Carneiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. SC Espadaneira's David Matias proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save SC Espadaneira from getting a goal against them. Hugo Almeida succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 13th playminute. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Vítor Barros managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Carnapete's supporters rose to their feet, but Vítor Barros was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. David Matias breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vítor Barros received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. David Matias came out and tried to block the shot, but Vítor Barros slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 18th minute. Marco Pinho kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. In the 23rd minute, Rogério Lima sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and SC Espadaneira's David Matias didn't even have to move. After having played for 25 minutes, Vítor Barros managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Carnapete's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vítor Barros was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vítor Barros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. David Matias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vítor Barros in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck David Matias prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Vítor Barros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. David Matias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hugo Almeida's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but David Matias read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. In the 35th match minute, SC Espadaneira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nuno Carneiro to maneuver through the defense. 47 minutes into the game, SC Carnapete's Hugo Almeida nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. David Matias made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

José Almeida's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nuno Sousa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. After having played for 60 minutes, José Baptista managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Espadaneira's supporters crossed their fingers, but José Baptista was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 62 minutes into the game, Nuno Carneiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Espadaneira's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Carnapete the free kick. In the 62nd minute, Nuno Carneiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. SC Espadaneira's David Matias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vítor Barros in the 71st minute of play. Hugo Almeida fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Matias having to interfere. After 76 minutes of play, SC Carnapete's Vítor Barros made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. David Matias was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 79th minute, Nuno Carneiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 80 played minutes SC Carnapete got a freekick which was hit by Vítor Barros. If José Baptista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 85 minutes into the match, SC Carnapete's goal looked a bit too open when José Baptista came free, but Nuno Sousa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. David Matias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hugo Almeida, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. SC Espadaneira's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
