José Baptista received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Nuno Pereira came out and tried to block the shot, but José Baptista slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 11th minute. In the 21st minute António Pires shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Matias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 33rd minute, Gil Machado sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and SC Espadaneira's David Matias didn't even have to move. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

David Matias was a little too slow when António Pires got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 79th minute. The score was now 1-3. Júlio Pacheco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of SC Espadaneira booed when SC Azurem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Júlio Pacheco didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Espadaneira's goalkeeper David Matias, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Nuno Carneiro scored 2-3 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nuno Pereira, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. SC Azurem's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
