Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Inácio Melo made the kick off which started today's match. In the 6th minute, João Lopes fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Amílcar Ramos, passed just outside the right post. Óscar Azevedo hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Eusébio Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexandre Torres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Miguel Castro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eusébio Amorim was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice moves João Lopes could shoot a difficult shot in the 22nd minute, which Amílcar Ramos however easily saved by the left post. Miguel Castro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jorge Neto's late challenge caught a Palhas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jorge Neto helped the player get up and apologised. 41 minutes into the match, João Lopes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Amílcar Ramos. Palhas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that João Lopes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Amílcar Ramos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Inácio Melo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpected shot in the 46th minute by João Lopes got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Miguel Castro to make the kick off. Miguel Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eusébio Amorim having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in SC Vilarinha's zone, Miguel Castro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eusébio Amorim came out of the goal and Miguel Castro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alexandre Torres got free with Eusébio Amorim in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. SC Vilarinha's Eusébio Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Castro in the 60th minute of play. When Gonçalo Leiria fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Vilarinha's protests and gave Gonçalo Leiria a yellow card for diving instead. After 61 played minutes SC Vilarinha got a freekick which was hit by Gonçalo Leiria. Miguel Castro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eusébio Amorim read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. SC Vilarinha's João Lopes got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 68th minute Inácio Melo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amílcar Ramos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 71 minutes, Alexandre Torres managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Palhas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexandre Torres was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alexandre Torres recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Inácio Melo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 80 minutes into the game, Jorge Delgado was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Palhas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Vilarinha the free kick. After a rather tough play, Palhas's Jorge Delgado got a free kick in the 80th minute. Miguel Castro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Eusébio Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. João Lopes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Amílcar Ramos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Palhas's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
