The audience thought a goal was coming when Miguel Guarda got free with Eusébio Amorim in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With his leg Eusébio Amorim managed to avoid a goal in the 19thth minute, when SC Mialha's Miguel Guarda fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 27 minutes into the match, SC Vilarinha's Fábio Paiva broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Emílio Assis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Inácio Melo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 34th minute, João Lopes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 40 minutes into the match, João Lopes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Emílio Assis. SC Mialha's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that João Lopes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. If Gonçalo Correia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 46 minutes into the game, Inácio Melo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Emílio Assis was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Inácio Melo was the one to do the kick off. João Lopes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Emílio Assis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Adolfo Neves fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Mialha's protests and gave Adolfo Neves a yellow card for diving instead. In the 60th match minute, SC Mialha was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adolfo Neves to maneuver through the defense. João Lopess short, quick shot in the 64thth minute got Emílio Assis to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 69 minutes into the match, SC Vilarinha's Inácio Melo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Emílio Assis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Adolfo Neves kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Jorge Moreira hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lucas Monteiro in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eusébio Amorim saved SC Vilarinha from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, João Lopes managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Vilarinha's supporters rose to their feet, but João Lopes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emílio Assis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Miguel Guarda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eusébio Amorim having to interfere. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched SC Vilarinha eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
