Hélder Nunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorge Gomes having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Hélder Nunes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jorge Gomes was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. 14 minutes into the match, Monteza's goal looked a bit too open when José Ribeiro came free, but Jorge Gomes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Armindo Antunes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Monteza's supporters rose to their feet, but Armindo Antunes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paulo Silva breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Armindo Antunes made a kick off. Armindo Antunes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Armindo Antunes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Paulo Silva read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. Paulo Silva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Armindo Antunes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paulo Silva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armindo Antunes in the 64th minute of the match. A collision led to Monteza getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. José Andrade hit a great ball. Hélder Nunes struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Jorge Gomes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chapinheira. After 83 minutes of play, Monteza's Tomás Pinto made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Paulo Silva was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 96th minute Tomás Pinto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Silva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
