In the 3rd minute of the match Fernando Bessa shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Artur Magalhães showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When João Cunha got free in front of the goal in the 5th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Artur Magalhães was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Luís Paiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amadeu Santarém having to interfere. When Rogério Rodrigues came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Troias fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rogério Rodrigues couldn't finish the play. In the 13th match minute, Cano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nuno Ferreira to maneuver through the defense. If Rogério Rodrigues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Tomás Ramos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Troias's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomás Ramos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Artur Magalhães breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Troias's zone, Luís Paiva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amadeu Santarém came out of the goal and Luís Paiva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luís Paiva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Amadeu Santarém tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Troias's Amadeu Santarém got control of the ball when Fernando Lisboa tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 38th minute Rogério Rodrigues shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Artur Magalhães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that João Cunha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Artur Magalhães was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gaspar Branco during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Troias's Gaspar Branco got a free kick in the 41st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Troias's zone, Fernando Lisboa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amadeu Santarém came out of the goal and Fernando Lisboa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 46 minutes into the match, Troias's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Paiva came free, but Amadeu Santarém reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luís Paiva stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51stth minute of the game João Cunha who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cano's Artur Magalhães was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Luís Paiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amadeu Santarém having to interfere. After some careless play in the Cano defense, Rogério Rodrigues kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Artur Magalhães. The Cano fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Artur Magalhães should have stopped the shot. Luís Paiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amadeu Santarém having to interfere. Fernando Lisboa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luís Paiva's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Amadeu Santarém read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. After having played for 76 minutes, Luís Paiva managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luís Paiva was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cano's Artur Magalhães proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Cano from getting a goal against them. Troias's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Fernando Bessa in the 81st minute. The corner ended in Fernando Bessa almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Cano's Artur Magalhães did a great save. Cano's Artur Magalhães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Cunha in the 87th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Fernando Lisboa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cano's supporters rose to their feet, but Fernando Lisboa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amadeu Santarém breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Troias had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
