Spectators: 33 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Cano's Luís Paiva started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Cano booed when SC Inacios was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gil Gonçalves didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luís Paiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 13 minutes in the game, Luís Paiva fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without José Paredes having to interfere. José Paredes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Paiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. In the 20th minute, Nuno Ferreira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Fernando Coelho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 23 minutes into the match, SC Inacios's Abel Nascimento sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Artur Magalhães narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Abel Nascimento's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Artur Magalhães was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. Fernando Coelho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Viriato Sá during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Fernando Coelho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Artur Magalhães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 34 minutes into the game, Fernando Coelho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Inacios's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cano the free kick. Fernando Coelho kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Luís Paiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nuno Ferreira hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. In the 42nd minute, José Machado sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Cano's Artur Magalhães didn't even have to move. Fernando Lisboa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but José Paredes made a huge save. Abel Nascimento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Artur Magalhães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fernando Coelho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cano's Artur Magalhães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernando Coelho in the 53rd minute of play. Artur Magalhães made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Abel Nascimento sent off a good shot on target. In the 65th match minute, SC Inacios was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gil Gonçalves to maneuver through the defense. In the 66th minute, Afonso Araújo sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and SC Inacios's José Paredes didn't even have to move. Cano's Luís Paiva got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 77 minutes into the match, SC Inacios's goal looked a bit too open when Fernando Lisboa came free, but José Paredes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luís Paiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 81st minute, Abel Nascimento got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luís Paiva in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck José Paredes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Artur Magalhães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernando Coelho in the 88th minute of play. Abel Nascimento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Artur Magalhães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Artur Magalhães stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fernando Coelho's shot from short distance in the 96th minute. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the SC Inacios players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
