Carlos Simões sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Fábio Lopes managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Alheira's supporters rose to their feet, but Fábio Lopes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Pedroso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Amílcar Guerreiro came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the SC Alheira fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amílcar Guerreiro couldn't finish the play. A hard shot 18 in the game by Fábio Lopes from a close distance when the talented Carlos Pedroso managed to make a qualified save. Grovas FC's players were relieved. After a rather tough play, Grovas FC's Cristiano Pires got a free kick in the 26th minute. In the 27th minute Amílcar Guerreiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Pedroso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 31st match minute, SC Alheira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sebastião Moniz to maneuver through the defense. When Carlos Simões came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Grovas FC fans jumped to their feet. After having played for 36 minutes, Carlos Simões managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Grovas FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Simões was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hélder Castro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Simões in the 37th minute of the match. Fábio Lopes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 43 minutes into the match, Grovas FC's goalkeeper Carlos Pedroso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fábio Lopes. SC Alheira's Hélder Castro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Duarte Moura in the 47th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Duarte Moura to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in SC Alheira's zone, Duarte Moura stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hélder Castro came out of the goal and Duarte Moura tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amílcar Guerreiro in the 57th minute of play forced Grovas FC's goalkeeper Carlos Pedroso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rui Melo kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Grovas FC's Adelino Vaz couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 61st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for SC Alheira. Carlos Simões in the 65thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Hélder Castro, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amílcar Guerreiro in the 69th minute of play forced Grovas FC's goalkeeper Carlos Pedroso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Grovas FC's Carlos Simões got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, SC Alheira's Hélder Castro got control of the ball when Carlos Simões tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 90th minute, Duarte Moura got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Augusto Leão kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
