Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) SC Cachouca's Eusébio Silva started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. João Figueiredo was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 4 minutes into the match. After 4 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for SC Cachouca! If Fernando Anjos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tiago Torres's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Abel Andrade read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. Gontinho FC's Cláudio Torres got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to SC Cachouca getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Alfredo Bessa hit a great ball. Cláudio Torres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Abel Andrade tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tiago Torres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fernando Anjos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Lourenço Delgado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rui Matos charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rui Matos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Gontinho FC booed when SC Cachouca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rui Matos didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Gontinho FC's zone, Fernando Anjos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lourenço Delgado came out of the goal and Fernando Anjos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Fernando Anjos managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Cachouca's supporters rose to their feet, but Fernando Anjos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lourenço Delgado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 46th minute, Cláudio Torres fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Abel Andrade, passed just outside the right post. In the 48th minute, SC Cachouca's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Tiago Torres fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

João Amaro kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. In the 54th minute Tiago Torres shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abel Andrade saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In a very dangerous position, a player in SC Cachouca fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 55th minute. Penalty! In the 57th minute there was a penalty for Gontinho FC. Vicente Carneiro stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Abel Andrade. 1-0. Abel Andrade showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tiago Torres, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cláudio Torres in the 65th minute of play forced SC Cachouca's goalkeeper Abel Andrade to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Basílio Simões fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lourenço Delgado having to interfere. Tiago Torres's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Abel Andrade read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. Abel Andrade came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by Gontinho FC's Tiago Torres. But to his dismay, Tiago Torres quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. If Cláudio Torres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. SC Cachouca's Basílio Setúbal got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. SC Cachouca's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
