Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. José Rodrigues started the match with the kick off. Adolfo Cruz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel Martins having to interfere. Adolfo Cruz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sérgio Carvalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bernardo Amaro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Rodrigues, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Adolfo Cruz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Manuel Martins having to make a save. Manuel Martins didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 19th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. In the 24th minute Sérgio Carvalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manuel Martins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 24th minute, Carlos Castro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Manuel Martins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sérgio Carvalho in the 26th minute of play. In the 28th minute, Tomás Machado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lúcio Anjos, 29 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sérgio Carvalho in the 31st minute of play forced Quintiao FC's goalkeeper Manuel Martins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 33 minutes, Adolfo Cruz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Varge FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adolfo Cruz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Varge FC booed when Quintiao FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomás Machado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adolfo Cruz's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 37thth minute, Manuel Martins skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After having played for 38 minutes, José Rodrigues managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Quintiao FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but José Rodrigues was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Adolfo Cruz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Varge FC's Sérgio Carvalho in the 42nd minute got a chance for a shot 42nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Quintiao FC's goalie prevented a goal. Quintiao FC's Manuel Martins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sérgio Carvalho in the 44th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sérgio Carvalho to make the kick off. José Rodrigues might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bernardo Amaro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. José Rodrigues ran back to his position shaking his head. Sérgio Carvalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Manuel Martins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Adolfo Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bernardo Amaro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 89th minute, Paulo Borges left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Quintiao FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After a rather tough play, Quintiao FC's Carlos Castro got a free kick in the 92nd minute. When Jacinto Gomes came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Varge FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jacinto Gomes couldn't finish the play. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
