Rodrigo Monteiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Cristiano Abreu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Simão Baptista came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Sermanha FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Simão Baptista couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Sermanha FC's Armindo Azevedo got a free kick in the 20th minute. Sermanha FC's Simão Baptista got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Simão Baptista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Filipe Sousa in the 32nd minute of play forced Sermanha FC's goalkeeper Sebastião Barros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Sermanha FC defense, Paulo Sá kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sebastião Barros. The Sermanha FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sebastião Barros should have stopped the shot. Sebastião Barros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Sá in the 44th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rodrigo Monteiro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cristiano Abreu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodrigo Monteiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 53 minutes, Sebastião Monteiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Palao and the Sermanha FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Sebastião Monteiro hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. If Paulo Sá had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paulo Sá sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 62 minutes, Diogo Rocha mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sermanha FC and the SC Palao players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 62 played minutes Sermanha FC got a freekick which was hit by Diogo Rocha. In the 64th minute of the match, Paulo Sá got a very nice opportunity to score, but Sebastião Barros was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Paulo Sá's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 66thth minute, Sebastião Barros skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Sebastião Barros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Filipe Sousa in the 67th minute of play. Paulo Sá sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Diogo Rocha kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Simão Baptista charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Simão Baptista the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Simão Baptista in the 78th minute of play forced SC Palao's goalkeeper Cristiano Abreu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristiano Abreu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Simão Baptista in the 81st minute of play. Rodrigo Monteiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. SC Palao had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
