Abel Borba didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexandre Ribeiro in the 18th minute of play forced SC Menjoelho's goalkeeper Joaquim Barbosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Nascimento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquim Barbosa having to interfere. After having played for 25 minutes, Alexandre Ribeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vimeiro FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexandre Ribeiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 29 minutes into the game, Alexandre Ribeiro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Joaquim Barbosa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Adelino Assis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. After 37 played minutes, Vimeiro FC's Joaquim Figueiredo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Joaquim Barbosa came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Vimeiro FC reached it. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Abel Viegas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fábio Santarém having to interfere. Fábio Santarém stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Abel Viegas's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. When Heitor Paredes fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vimeiro FC's protests and gave Heitor Paredes a yellow card for diving instead. Heitor Paredes hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. An unexpected shot in the 65th minute by Alexandre Ribeiro got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After 67 played minutes SC Menjoelho got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Henriques. After 69 played minutes SC Menjoelho got a freekick which was hit by Abel Borba. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Nascimento got free with Joaquim Barbosa in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. SC Menjoelho's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
