In the 13th match minute, Alfrivida FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henrique Viegas to maneuver through the defense. Diogo Neto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Catarino Moutinho's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. In the 21st minute António Lopes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diogo Neto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. António Lopes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Diogo Neto having to make a save. Francisco Leiria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Alfrivida FC's zone, Gabriel Gomes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. André Abreu came out of the goal and Gabriel Gomes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Covelos FC's Gabriel Gomes got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Alfrivida FC getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Cristiano Borba hit a great ball. In the 34th minute of the match Viriato Soares sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but André Abreu skillfully saved the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Gabriel Gomes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Covelos FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gabriel Gomes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. André Abreu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 37 minutes, Nuno Sá managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Covelos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nuno Sá was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nuno Sá recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 40th minute, Henrique Viegas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Viriato Soares, 41 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. André Abreu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gabriel Gomes, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. A collision led to Covelos FC getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Jorge Costa hit a great ball. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gabriel Gomes to make the kick off. André Abreu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabriel Gomes in the 58th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gabriel Gomes in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck André Abreu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gabriel Gomes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without André Abreu having to interfere. In the 75th minute, Alfrivida FC's António Lopes ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Diogo Neto. Óscar Delgado hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Covelos FC's Diogo Neto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Covelos FC from getting a goal against them. 90 minutes into the match, Nuno Sá had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of André Abreu. Alfrivida FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nuno Sá was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1.
