Rui Baptista's late challenge caught a Covelos FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rui Baptista helped the player get up and apologised. Rui Baptista kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hélder Neves in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Diogo Neto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Covelos FC getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Nuno Sá hit a great ball. A hard shot 24 in the game by Vicente Magalhães from a close distance when the talented Diogo Neto managed to make a qualified save. Covelos FC's players were relieved. A collision led to Covelos FC getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Francisco Leiria hit a great ball. Vicente Magalhães received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. The Sintrao FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. If Nuno Sá had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Hélder Neves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Diogo Neto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Diogo Neto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hélder Neves in the 70th minute of the match. The supporters of Sintrao FC booed when Covelos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armindo Torres didn't get a good kick on the ball. 75 minutes into the match, Hélder Neves notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Covelos FC's Diogo Neto. Diogo Neto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 81 minutes, Óscar Delgado mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Covelos FC and the Sintrao FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 81 played minutes Covelos FC got a freekick which was hit by Óscar Delgado. Paulo Carneiro, 82 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Covelos FC's zone, Hélder Neves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Diogo Neto came out of the goal and Hélder Neves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sintrao FC's Vicente Magalhães got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vicente Magalhães received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Diogo Neto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sintrao FC's Vicente Magalhães got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Hélder Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sintrao FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
