Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Pedro Veiga got the match started through his kick off. When José Nunes came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Carigas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Nunes couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, José Nunes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carigas's supporters rose to their feet, but José Nunes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eusébio Costa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Almodovar's Eusébio Costa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Nunes in the 10th minute of play. Pedro Veiga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Eusébio Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 17 minutes into the match, Pedro Veiga notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Almodovar's Eusébio Costa. Eusébio Costa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Basílio Vaz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rui Viana having to interfere. Óscar Simões received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Rui Viana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 38 played minutes Almodovar got a freekick which was hit by Artur Matos. When José Nunes came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Carigas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Nunes couldn't finish the play. 41 minutes into the match, Almodovar's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Veiga came free, but Eusébio Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Basílio Vaz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rui Viana having to interfere. Filipe Barros hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Basílio Vaz kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Rui Viana. That made the score 1-1 in the 46 minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
The wind increased when Basílio Vaz made the kick off in the second half. In a very dangerous position, a player in Carigas fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 62nd minute. Penalty! The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Carlos Almeida during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 70th minute, Carlos Almeida hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. José Nunes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Eusébio Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Basílio Vaz in the 89th minute of play forced Carigas's goalkeeper Rui Viana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Carigas players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Almodovar.
