The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 2 minutes, Carlos Sá mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gralhos FC and the Gave players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 3rd minute, Carlos Sá hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rogério Cardoso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Jaime Ferro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rogério Cardoso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 16 minutes into the match, Gave's goal looked a bit too open when Joaquim Jesus came free, but Joaquim Leal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A well-hit corner resulted in António Azevedo heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. If Gaspar Andrade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gralhos FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 32nd minute, when Joaquim Assunção scored to the left of an out of position Jaime Ferro, making the score, 2-0. 38 minutes into the match, Augusto Guarda had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jaime Ferro. Gralhos FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Augusto Guarda was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Joaquim Leal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joaquim Jesus, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. If Joaquim Jesus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joaquim Jesus in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joaquim Leal saved Gave from getting behind. In the 47th minute, Gaspar Andrade hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 47 minutes of play, Gave's Joaquim Assunção made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jaime Ferro was left in no man's land by his defense there! The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

Fernando Amorim took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 56th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jaime Ferro. Gralhos FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Jaime Ferro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joaquim Assunção in the 60th minute of play. 66 minutes into the match, Gralhos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rogério Cardoso came free, but Jaime Ferro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joaquim Leal made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Gaspar Andrade sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joaquim Jesus in the 74th minute of play forced Gave's goalkeeper Joaquim Leal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jaime Ferro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joaquim Assunção in the 76th minute of the match. Joaquim Assunção received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Jaime Ferro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joaquim Jesus was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 94th minute. Gralhos FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Rogério Cardoso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 98th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gave were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Gralhos FC for a fine match.
