Alexandre Faro's late challenge caught a Gralhos FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Francisco Rodrigues fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jaime Ferro having to interfere. In the 16th minute of the match Paulo Ferro sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Artur Oliveira skillfully saved the ball. After a rather tough play, Daivoes's Pedro Ramos got a free kick in the 19th minute. Gaspar Andrade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Artur Oliveira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Gralhos FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Joaquim Jesus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 50th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.
The wind increased when André Fontes made the kick off in the second half. Jaime Ferro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from André Fontes in the 56th minute of the match. Jaime Ferro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Rodrigues in the 59th minute of play. After 60 played minutes Gralhos FC got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Alves. If Francisco Rodrigues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gralhos FC's Gaspar Andrade got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rui Barros hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Gralhos FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
