The audience was convinced that Joaquim Garcia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cristiano Cruz was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. After recieving a nice pass, SC Colmeias's José Freitas tried to score from far away in the 40th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Xavier Fernandes did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Cristiano Cruz 42 minutes into the match. Joaquim Garcia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joaquim Garcia was the one to do the kick off. Roqueirinho FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rui Martins was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Roqueirinho FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
