The tension between the Balazar and the Fandinhais FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Balazar getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Delfim Queirós in the 11th minute of play forced Fandinhais FC's goalkeeper Viriato Vaz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Viriato Vaz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Delfim Queirós, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Afonso Correia charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Afonso Correia the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 15thth minute of the game Delfim Queirós who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fandinhais FC's Viriato Vaz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 1-0 became the score in the 18th minute when Sérgio Andrade elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Balazar's António Pinto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sérgio Andrade in the 25th minute of play. Gonçalo Domingues's late challenge caught a Fandinhais FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gonçalo Domingues helped the player get up and apologised. After 26 played minutes Balazar got a freekick which was hit by Gonçalo Domingues. António Pinto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sérgio Andrade in the 29th minute of play. José Domingues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Viriato Vaz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sérgio Andrade fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without António Pinto having to interfere. After 45 minutes of play Balazar's Gonçalo Domingues was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to Balazar getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Gonçalo Domingues hit a great ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for José Domingues to strike the kick off in the second half. Sérgio Andrade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Fandinhais FC's goalkeeper Viriato Vaz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Rogério Luz fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fandinhais FC's protests and gave Rogério Luz a yellow card for diving instead. After 62 played minutes Fandinhais FC got a freekick which was hit by Rogério Luz. In the 64th minute Sérgio Andrade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but António Pinto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. António Pinto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sérgio Andrade, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. José Domingues sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Fandinhais FC's zone, Delfim Queirós stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Viriato Vaz came out of the goal and Delfim Queirós tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When José Domingues came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Balazar fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Domingues couldn't finish the play. António Pinto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sérgio Andrade in the 73rd minute of play. Amadeu Gomes got his second yellow card in the match during the 74th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After a rather tough play, Balazar's Amadeu Gomes got a free kick in the 75th minute. Sérgio Andrade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. António Pinto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 85 minutes into the match, Sérgio Andrade had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of António Pinto. Balazar's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sérgio Andrade was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Cândido Leão's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but António Pinto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Fandinhais FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Balazar had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
