The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Catarino Araújo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Abel Branco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Miguel Pires scored 2-0 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Catarino Araújo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Abel Branco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 44th minute, Diamantino Maia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Xavier Lisboa charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Xavier Lisboa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 48th match minute, Apilata FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Xavier Lisboa to maneuver through the defense. Nuno Dias showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Cruz in the 51st minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cristiano Anjos made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristiano Anjos in the 58th minute of play forced Alamo FC's goalkeeper Catarino Araújo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Catarino Araújo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristiano Anjos in the 63rd minute of the match. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind Alamo FC's goalkeeper Catarino Araújo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 70 played minutes Apilata FC got a freekick which was hit by Xavier Lisboa. Abel Branco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 75th minute, Carlos Cruz fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Lúcio Santos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nuno Dias having to interfere. In the 83rd minute, Manuel Gueifão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carlos Cruz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nuno Dias having to interfere. When the referee ended the match the Apilata FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
