The attack was good, but when Carlos Cruz in the 5th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Soengas were awarded a corner in the 12th minute after Alamo FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Bruno Pedroso took the corner. The corner led Soengas's Bruno Pedroso to fire away a dangerous shot which Catarino Araújo despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 13 minutes into the match, Alamo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Joaquim Queirós came free, but Catarino Araújo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Miguel Cabral during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 16th minute there was a penalty for Soengas. Bruno Pedroso stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Catarino Araújo. 0-1. After 19 minutes, Alexandre Anjos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Soengas and the Alamo FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Soengas's Alexandre Anjos got a free kick in the 20th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 25 minutes, Adolfo Aleixo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Alamo FC's Catarino Araújo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joaquim Queirós in the 26th minute of play. The supporters of Soengas booed when Alamo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Óscar Borba didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Carlos Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lúcio Santos received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Adolfo Aleixo came out and tried to block the shot, but Lúcio Santos slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 36th minute. 40 minutes into the match, Soengas's goalkeeper Adolfo Aleixo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Óscar Borba. Alamo FC's Catarino Araújo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joaquim Queirós in the 44th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joaquim Queirós to make the kick off. In the 54th minute Joaquim Queirós shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Catarino Araújo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 55 played minutes Alamo FC got a freekick which was hit by Óscar Borba. After 95 played minutes Soengas got a freekick which was hit by Alexandre Anjos. After a defensive mix-up in Soengas's zone, Lúcio Santos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adolfo Aleixo came out of the goal and Lúcio Santos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
