Abel Borges might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ricardo Rocha. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Abel Borges ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 21st minute Abel Borges shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Rocha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tomás Melo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Filipe Leal in the 22nd minute of the match. Ricardo Rocha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abel Borges, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Filipe Leal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomás Melo having to interfere. If Abel Borges had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gustavo Marques took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ricardo Rocha. Ricardo Rocha dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Tomás Melo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tiago Pacheco, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

If Abel Borges had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
