The supporters of Morreira FC booed when Carnicais FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rui Antunes didn't get a good kick on the ball. 17 minutes into the match, Carnicais FC's goal looked a bit too open when João Moutinho came free, but Jorge Campos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. João Moutinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Júlio Garcia in the 26th minute of play forced Morreira FC's goalkeeper Rogério Leal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 28th minute, Carnicais FC's Júlio Garcia ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Rogério Leal. Rogério Leal yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. In the 35th minute Oliveira Barros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorge Campos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Morreira FC's João Moutinho got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Amílcar Leão hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. The Morreira FC fans' excitement grew in the 42nd match minute when Morreira FC's Luís Borba looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Oliveira Barros made the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, Carnicais FC's goalkeeper Jorge Campos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by João Moutinho. Morreira FC's Oliveira Barros got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If João Moutinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Júlio Garcia came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Carnicais FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Júlio Garcia couldn't finish the play. After 76 minutes, Domingos Vieira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Morreira FC and the Carnicais FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 76 played minutes Morreira FC got a freekick which was hit by Domingos Vieira. If Júlio Garcia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 81 minutes, Oliveira Barros managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Morreira FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Oliveira Barros was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 88th minute, Júlio Garcia made a precise shot to the right of Rogério Leal. Morreira FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. The audience was convinced that Oliveira Barros's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jorge Campos was relentless in the 94th minute of the game. João Moutinho in the 97thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jorge Campos, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
