The Britelo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ricardo Freitas should have stopped the shot. Pedro Pinto kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. In the 27th minute Afonso Monteiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Viriato Leal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Carlos Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Britelo getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Daniel Coimbra hit a great ball. Carlos Fernandes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Viriato Leal having to interfere. In the 40th minute, Carlos Barros got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ricardo Freitas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Barros in the 44th minute of the match. Viriato Leal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Afonso Monteiro in the 47th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Carlos Barros made the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind Britelo's goalkeeper Ricardo Freitas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
