Carlos Matias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Vaz in the 7th minute of play. In the 9thth minute of the game Rui Correia who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Apartadura's Carlos Matias was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Carlos Sousa took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 12th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Carlos Matias. SC Apartadura's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a rather tough play, SC Apartadura's Gonçalo Figueiredo got a free kick in the 15th minute. After 16 played minutes, SC Sardao's Gustavo Valente shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Carlos Matias came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SC Sardao reached it. 26 minutes into the match, SC Apartadura's goal looked a bit too open when Rui Correia came free, but Carlos Matias reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 29 played minutes SC Apartadura got a freekick which was hit by Gonçalo Figueiredo. Rui Correia struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Carlos Matias didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Sardao. Carlos Matias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Vaz, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in SC Apartadura's zone, Rui Correia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Matias came out of the goal and Rui Correia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 37 minutes, Carlos Sousa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Sardao and the SC Apartadura players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 37 played minutes SC Sardao got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Sousa. A hard shot by André Amaro from long distance, 38 minutes into the match, got Joaquim Valente's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Joaquim Valente made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pedro Queirós in the 47th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Rui Correia made the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, SC Apartadura's Vítor Vieira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joaquim Valente narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of SC Sardao booed when SC Apartadura was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vítor Vieira didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 58 minutes of play, SC Apartadura's Pedro Queirós made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joaquim Valente was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 65th minute, Pedro Queirós ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joaquim Valente was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. José Vaz was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 69th minute. SC Sardao's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 71st minute, José Vaz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the SC Sardao defense, Xavier Morais kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joaquim Valente. The SC Sardao fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joaquim Valente should have stopped the shot. 81 minutes into the match, SC Sardao's goal looked a bit too open when Vítor Vieira came free, but Joaquim Valente reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 84 minutes of play, SC Apartadura's Pedro Queirós made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joaquim Valente was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Heitor Delgado fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Apartadura's protests and gave Heitor Delgado a yellow card for diving instead. After 93 played minutes SC Apartadura got a freekick which was hit by Heitor Delgado.
