Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Gonçalo Fontes started the match with the kick off. In the 5th minute of the match Tiago Paredes shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rodrigo Resende showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 6 played minutes SC Montoito got a freekick which was hit by Catarino Neves. Emílio Amaral blasted a shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nuno Assis having to make a save. Emílio Amaral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nuno Assis having to interfere. In the 12th minute, Gonçalo Fontes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the SC Montoito defense, Emílio Amaral kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nuno Assis. The SC Montoito fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nuno Assis should have stopped the shot. With his leg Nuno Assis managed to avoid a goal in the 16thth minute, when Furnazinhas's Emílio Amaral fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Rodrigo Resende made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorge Borges in the 20th minute of play. If Emílio Amaral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lourenço Cardoso kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Adelino Abreu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodrigo Resende having to interfere. In the 41st minute Jorge Borges shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodrigo Resende saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 43rd minute, Gonçalo Fontes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Marco Delgado kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Eusébio Silva lost his temper 46 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

In the 59th minute, Adelino Abreu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Montoito fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Marco Delgado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of SC Montoito booed when Furnazinhas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miguel Moreira didn't get a good kick on the ball. 83 minutes into the game, Amílcar Carvalho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Furnazinhas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Montoito the free kick. After a rather tough play, Furnazinhas's Amílcar Carvalho got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Adelino Abreu scored 1-3 in the 84th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rodrigo Resende, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Jorge Borges came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the SC Montoito fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorge Borges couldn't finish the play. Jorge Borges received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Rodrigo Resende tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nuno Assis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emílio Amaral in the 96th minute of play. The SC Montoito supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing SC Montoito would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
