In the 3rd minute of the match Sebastião Figueiredo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Manuel Setúbal skillfully saved the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and José Vaz made a kick off. José Vaz might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Júlio Lisboa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. José Vaz ran back to his position shaking his head. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Basílio Domingues in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Júlio Lisboa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Luís Marques sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 67 minutes, Basílio Domingues mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Meceares FC and the Belinho players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 67th match minute, Meceares FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Basílio Domingues to maneuver through the defense.
