Armindo Pinho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Nuno Jesus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Delfim Coelho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nuno Jesus having to interfere. Negrais's Nuno Jesus played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armindo Pinho in the 30th minute of play. After having played for 33 minutes, Delfim Coelho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Donas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Delfim Coelho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rui Macedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diogo Santarém, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pedro Viana charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pedro Viana the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 36 played minutes Donas got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Viana. Rui Macedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diogo Santarém in the 37th minute of the match. 44 minutes into the match, Negrais's goalkeeper Nuno Jesus had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Delfim Coelho. An unexpectedly hard shot by André Mendes in the 47th minute of play forced Donas's goalkeeper Rui Macedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Armindo Pinho made a kick off. Nuno Jesus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Delfim Coelho in the 68th minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, Donas's goalkeeper Rui Macedo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by André Mendes. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Diogo Santarém in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Negrais supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Negrais would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
