The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 24th minute, Ricardo Santarém got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 25th match minute, Travancas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by André Pinho to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricardo Santarém in the 31st minute of play forced Travancas FC's goalkeeper João Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. António Moniz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexandre Baptista in the 58th minute of play. After having played for 64 minutes, Ricardo Santarém managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Portalegre's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ricardo Santarém was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ricardo Santarém got free with João Amaral in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ricardo Santaréms short, quick shot in the 67thth minute got João Amaral to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. João Amaral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Pacheco in the 70th minute of play. António Moniz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Adolfo Mendes went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. 87 minutes into the match, Alexandre Baptista notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Portalegre's António Moniz. António Moniz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Portalegre's António Moniz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adolfo Mendes in the 98th minute of play. Travancas FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Portalegre for a fine match.
