SC Poiares's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Nabainhos the free kick. A collision led to SC Poiares getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Basílio Cruz hit a great ball. The audience cheered when Jorge Campos's long shot passed Nuno Assunção's right side. It was 0-1, 7 minutes into the match. Nuno Assunção showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastião Magalhães, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. SC Poiares's Nuno Assunção played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vítor Ferro in the 11th minute of play. Vítor Mota's late challenge caught a SC Poiares's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vítor Mota helped the player get up and apologised. In the 18th minute, one of SC Nabainhos:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for SC Nabainhos. In the 22nd match minute, SC Poiares was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manuel Rodrigues to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to SC Poiares getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Basílio Cruz hit a great ball. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Poiares's goalkeeper Nuno Assunção, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Pedro Costa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nuno Assunção read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. Nuno Assunção breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. SC Nabainhos walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
