Cavadinha's supporters rose to their feet, but António Mota was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Filipe Gomes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Cavadinha booed when Mafamude was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albertino Aleixo didn't get a good kick on the ball.

After a defensive mix-up in Cavadinha's zone, Gonçalo Amorim stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. António Marques came out of the goal and Gonçalo Amorim tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 58 minutes, Luís Teixeira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cavadinha and the Mafamude players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Cavadinha's Luís Teixeira got a free kick in the 58th minute. Rogério Carneiro took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 65th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Filipe Gomes. Mafamude's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Armando Moreira might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over António Marques. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Armando Moreira ran back to his position shaking his head. António Marques stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gonçalo Amorim's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Álvaro Porto in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Filipe Gomes saved Mafamude from getting behind. Gonçalo Amorim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. António Marques tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cavadinha's goalkeeper António Marques, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 79 minutes into the game, Álvaro Porto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Filipe Gomes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 82 minutes into the match, Mafamude's Gonçalo Amorim sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that António Marques narrowly saved just below the crossbar. António Valente's late challenge caught a Cavadinha's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. António Valente helped the player get up and apologised. In the 87th match minute, Mafamude was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by António Valente to maneuver through the defense. When Albertino Aleixo fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mafamude's protests and gave Albertino Aleixo a yellow card for diving instead. Albertino Aleixo kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Cavadinha's Álvaro Porto got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Armando Moreira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. António Marques tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 97 minutes into the match, Cavadinha's goal looked a bit too open when Gonçalo Amorim came free, but António Marques reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mafamude's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
