Rodrigo Martins blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Amadeu Coimbra having to make a save. In the 40th minute, Braga FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Oliveira Gaspar fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Bruno Rocha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tiago Fernandes in the 47th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Bruno Rocha stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tiago Fernandes's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. Afonso Setúbal, 56 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Amadeu Coimbra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodrigo Martins in the 58th minute of the match. In the 65th minute, Oliveira Gaspar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tiago Vaz got free with Amadeu Coimbra in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bruno Rocha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tiago Fernandes in the 81st minute of play. Oliveira Gaspar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Rocha having to interfere. Oliveira Gaspar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With 97 minutes on the clock, Diamantino Pedroso commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The goalkeeper, Amadeu Coimbra, was totally fooled by Braga FC's Afonso Setúbal, who 100 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side.
