When Joaquim Oliveira fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Forte's protests and gave Joaquim Oliveira a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to SC Forte getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Joaquim Oliveira hit a great ball. SC Forte's Jorge Domingues proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save SC Forte from getting a goal against them. If Cristóvão Correia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jorge Viegas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nuno Pinto, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when João Carneiro got free with Jorge Domingues in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jorge Viegas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nuno Pinto's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. If Nuno Pinto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Cristóvão Correia took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Jorge Domingues to make any attempt to save it. Artur Pinho struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Jorge Viegas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Forte. If Cristóvão Correia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gabriel Viegas charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gabriel Viegas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 25th minute, Gabriel Viegas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. SC Terroso's Humberto Leiria shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 26th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Jorge Domingues but with some difficulty. In the 28th minute of the match, Cristóvão Correia tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jorge Domingues saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 32nd minute, Artur Pinho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristóvão Correia in the 40th minute of play forced SC Forte's goalkeeper Jorge Domingues to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. SC Terroso's João Carneiro got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Artur Pinho was the one to do the kick off. 55 minutes into the match, SC Forte's goal looked a bit too open when João Carneiro came free, but Jorge Domingues reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of SC Terroso booed when SC Forte was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mário Gonçalves didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jorge Domingues showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristóvão Correia, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Jorge Viegas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Artur Pinho in the 73rd minute of the match. Nuno Pinto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Jorge Viegas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 77 minutes, Nuno Pinto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Forte's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nuno Pinto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristóvão Correia in the 79th minute of play forced SC Forte's goalkeeper Jorge Domingues to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mário Gonçalves charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 91st minute, SC Terroso's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Nuno Pinto fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. SC Forte's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
